Eddie Tigner: Slippin' In $12.00


"Eddie Tigner is a veritable encyclopedia of blues, jazz and old standards." -Tim Duffy, MMRF President Eddie Tigner spent a decade in vaudeville and has toured as a member of the Ink Spots for nearly 30 years. Staples of Tigner's live repertoire include "Take the 'A' Train," "C.C. Rider" and "Route 66," but he's equally adept at less typical fare such as "Sunny Side of the Street" or the Ellington chestnut "Caravan." He's also fluent in the Nat Cole Trio catalog.

Born on Aug. 11, 1926, in Macon, Georgia, he grew up in a Kentucky coal camps and moved to Atlanta, Georgia at the age of 14. He was bandleader of the famed Ink Spots from 1959 to 1987. Eddie is proud of the fact that during this time he performed at every Army base in the United States.
